Sometimes it's necessary to close a ward to new admissions due to the outbreak of an infectious illness such as flu or norovirus. During these times we urge people to visit only if absolutely necessary, to wash their hands when entering and leaving the ward and not to interact with or offer food to other patients on the ward.
