Welcome to Our Speech and Language Therapy Service

We are here to help you.

Our job is to make communicating, understanding, and swallowing easier, enabling better lives for people with communication and swallowing needs.

We help children, adults, their families and others who support them by listening to them and learning about what matters most. We don’t just try to “fix” things – we work with you to find ways that help in your everyday life.

We’ll work with you to plan therapy that fits your needs. Then support you with tools and strategies to help you achieve what matters most to you.

We’ll figure out what’s hard, what’s going well, and what you want to improve. Then we’ll do it together, step by step.

Because therapy should make sense in your life, not just in a clinic.

Where do the Speech and Language Therapy team work?

Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) work across Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea in a variety of settings:

  • Nurseries and play groups
  • Mainstream schools for primary and secondary ages
  • Special schools and speech and language units
  • Regional, local and community hospitals on acute and rehabilitation wards
  • Outpatient clinics and community health centres
  • Day centres and day units
  • People’s own homes
  • Nursing and care homes
  • Virtually/online

All Speech and Language Therapists are part of the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). These are organisations that ensure there is safe practice, well trained professionals and that guidelines and standards are being followed.
