Making a Call for Concern
Is your condition, or a loved one’s, getting worse?
Tell a nurse or doctor on the ward.
Are you still worried about yourself or a loved one?
If you still have concerns after speaking to staff on the ward, then it’s time to make a Call for Concern.
What is Call for Concern?
Call for Concern is a service that supports patients, their families and carers to call for urgent help if they feel their concerns haven’t been addressed by staff on the ward. It is available in all our three acute hospitals – Morriston, Singleton and Neath Port Talbot.
How do I access Call for Concern?
For Morriston Hospital call 01792 487462.
For Singleton Hospital call 01792 487456.
For Neath Port Talbot Hospital Call 01639 507342.
Clearly state that you have a ‘Call for Concern’. A member of our team will start by asking you some questions over the phone.
They may then visit you or your loved one on the ward to carry out an assessment and review your condition.
The team will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure you receive the best possible care.
Why use Call for Concern?
You know yourself and your loved ones best.
If you feel like your physical condition, or a loved one’s, is getting worse while you’re in hospital, we want you to speak up.
The Call for Concern service allows you to escalate your worries about a person who may be physically deteriorating (when their condition is getting worse). It is there for you if you feel you’re not being listened to on the ward.
