How has the criteria been decided? Why can't the health board decide its own criteria?

Our vaccination programme is part of a national effort to reach every adult over 16 in the UK. While we are managing things in Swansea Bay, we have to follow the national rules and guidelines for different aspects of the COVID-19 vaccination scheme.

This national guidance has been created by experts in the field based on lots of research and evidence.

We’re all working very hard to vaccinate our communities as quickly as we can but it is important that there is a level playing field between areas. By following the same rules as other health boards in Wales, we can make sure that everyone across the country is offered a vaccine according to the same priority list and that no one is missed out.
