What is the best way to travel to my child's appointment?

If you can walk to your surgery for your appointment that is the best option and will give you some fresh air and exercise.

You can travel in your own car.

Only use public transport if you have to. When travelling by public transport:

  • Avoid rush hours and busy times if you can.
  • Cover any coughs or sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the bin.
  • Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This is especially important to do before you leave the house, when you arrive for your appointment and when you get back home.
  • If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

Acting on advice from the World Health Organization and its own advisors, the Welsh Government has also recommended the use of three-layer face coverings on public transport.
