The following set of principles have been agreed with our Partnership Forum and describes how we will work together to deliver this strategy:
The Social Partnership and Public Procurement Act 2023 is now in effect in Wales. This law aims to improve public services and the well-being of people by encouraging fair work and responsible public spending.
What does it mean for Swansea Bay University Health Board?
From 1st April 2024, the Health Board must work closely with trade unions when making big decisions and setting goals for sustainable development. This is part of a new Social Partnership Duty, which ensures that decisions are made through consensus and compromise.
Why is this important?
Working in partnership brings many benefits:
- Better communication between staff and managers
- More engaged and motivated employees
- A more positive and cooperative workplace
- Greater public trust in our services
Swansea Bay UHB has published its first annual report showing how it has met the Social Partnership Duty. This report was created together with trade union representatives and approved by the Health Board Partnership Forum and is attached.
The report has been submitted to the Social Partnership Council and highlights our commitment to working together for the benefit of staff, patients, and the wider community.
