What is Nurse Bank?

Welcome to Nurse Bank.  We supply appropriately skilled staff to cover temporary short-term shortages within nursing due to vacancies or when there is a short-term increase in work.
 
We aim to provide caring, suitably qualified and reliable nurses and healthcare support workers who are able to respond to staffing requirements on demand and for last minute requirements.

Registered nurses

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Active NMC Registration
  • If you’re already employed with us there’s a fast-track process for joining the Nurse Bank

Health Care Support Workers

  • People with experience of delivering personal care
  • Individuals motivated to help others who are caring and compassionate

  • Make yourself available to work on a regular basis
How to join us
If you are interested in joining us we would love to have you as part of our team.
 
If you already work for this health board you will be able to apply for Nurse Bank as an internal candidate. The application form is available from the Nurse Bank intranet page, or you can email Nurse.bank2@wales.nhs.uk to request a form to be sent to you. Your line manager will need to sign your application form to confirm they are happy to support your application to nurse bank.
 
External candidates will need to apply via an external job advert, see below.  A post will be advertised regularly for qualified nurses and also for HCSWs.
 
Nurse Bank also has an active Facebook Group, which you can apply to join once you are registered as a member of the bank.
 
The recruitment process
You should allow up to six weeks from the date of your interview to working with us and you will need to.
  • Pass a face-to-face interview with a bank recruiter
  • Provide appropriate qualification certificates
  • Provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the UK
  • Provide suitable references
  • Pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Obtain our Occupational Health clearance
