A team from the city’s Valuation Office spent a day at the playground, part of Hafan Y Môr at Singleton Hospital.
The centre is for children with complex long-term needs, and the all-inclusive playground and sensory garden outside has been hugely popular with them and their families since it opened in 2014.
Cerian Bidder, who has family links to the centre, works at the Valuation Office where staff have a day each to give time to charity.
Hafan Y Môr senior physiotherapist Kate Greenfield said: “We asked if they could tidy and clean our specialist playground.
“Because of the better weather, the playground is used a lot more in the summer months.
“Twelve volunteers from the Valuation Office came along. Between them they power-washed the playground equipment, tidied the flower planters, put new flowers in the planters, swept the playground and painted the fence surrounding the playground.”
Kate said everyone at Hafan Y Môr was very impressed with the volunteer team and really pleased with the results of the day.
She added: “The children and their siblings who attend the centre can now enjoy spending time over the summer in the playground.
“The slides, climbing frame, swings and the other pieces of equipment are now clean for when the children use them.
“The playground is tidier and smarter for the children. They will love using it even more.”
Cerian was equally pleased. She said: “We found all the staff so welcoming and were so happy to see our work at the centre garden appreciated.
“We really are more than happy to return every year and get the park ready for the summer months.”
