Swansea Bay is Distance Aware

Distance Aware

We are proudly supporting the Distance Aware campaign across our health board sites, which has been set up to remind everyone to stay 2M/6.5ft apart.

This scheme was thought up Cwm Taf Morgannwg anaesthetics trainee Helen Iliff, who realised that there was a need for a ‘polite prompt’ as the initial lockdown restrictions eased. Follow this link to read more about how and why Helen started the campaign.

Working with the Bevan Commission, Helen developed a shield logo (pictured above) to remind to physically distance.

The scheme has been a great success so far, and is now supported by the Welsh Government, all NHS Wales organisations, as well as many national charities and businesses. Follow this link to see some of the organisations which have partnered up to support Distance Aware.

What does this mean for you?

When you visit one of our hospitals or clinics, you may see a staff member wearing one of these shield logos on a badge or lanyard (as shown in the photo below). You might also see posters asking you to be Distance Aware.

When you see the shield, please take a moment to take a look at others around you and make sure you have enough space between you.

Unless there is a medical reason for not doing so, it is absolutely vital that each and every one of us continue to respect the 2M/6.5ft rule to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Rydym yn croesawu gohebiaeth a galwadau ffôn yn y Gymraeg neu'r Saesneg. Atebir gohebiaeth Gymraeg yn y Gymraeg, ac ni fydd hyn yn arwain at oedi. Mae’r dudalen hon ar gael yn Gymraeg drwy bwyso’r botwm ar y dde ar frig y dudalen.

We welcome correspondence and telephone calls in Welsh or English. Welsh language correspondence will be replied to in Welsh, and this will not lead to a delay. This page is available in Welsh by clicking ‘Cymraeg’ at the top right of this page.
