From 10th March 2025 mothers-to-be and new mothers will be sent questionnaires aimed at finding out more about your experiences during your childbearing journey, and the care you have received.
We are keen to learn about what we are doing well and where our care or services can be improved, which is why we are one of the first health boards to offer this option for feedback.
Text messages will be sent directly to your phone with links to the surveys at these key stages:
The surveys are available in English Welsh, and also the ten most commonly spoken languages in Wales. We are hoping to provide as many people as possible the opportunity to respond in their first language.
Your anonymised responses will be regularly reviewed by the senior teams in perinatal services, (perinatal is a term used to describe both maternity and neonatal services). Themes and trends from survey responses will be used to develop improvement plans, to ensure that services develop the way you feel they should.
Keep your eyes peeled for your surveys and please let your midwife or antenatal clinic know if your mobile phone number changes.
Please note – as your survey responses will be anonymised, we will not be able to reply to you directly about any issue raised. If you have a concern you wish to raise with us directly - and would like us to respond to - please go here to see the options for raising a concern.
We are working in collaboration with the NHS Wales Executive, and the surveys have been developed as part of the recently published Perinatal engagement framework which you will find here.
This is part of a series of documents which will be published by Welsh Government this year, aiming to improve the quality and safety of perinatal services in Wales.
Rydym yn croesawu gohebiaeth a galwadau ffôn yn y Gymraeg neu'r Saesneg. Atebir gohebiaeth Gymraeg yn y Gymraeg, ac ni fydd hyn yn arwain at oedi. Mae’r dudalen hon ar gael yn Gymraeg drwy bwyso’r botwm ar y dde ar frig y dudalen.
We welcome correspondence and telephone calls in Welsh or English. Welsh language correspondence will be replied to in Welsh, and this will not lead to a delay. This page is available in Welsh by clicking ‘Cymraeg’ at the top right of this page.
