Who will we share your information with?

Your information is shared with PKB, the provider of the SBPP. PKB is a separate organisation to the NHS and are bound by contract with SBUHB for the supply of the SBPP. They will not be able to read your clinical information, only your demographics (name, address, email address etc). All clinical information shared with them is encrypted which means PKB cannot access it, only those individuals and organisations that you specifically choose to access it can read it.

If you claim your record on the SB Patient Portal, you will then have the opportunity to view and share your information with whomever you choose, and these choices can be changed at any time.

Any further use or sharing of your information once it is in the SB Patient Portal and claimed by you is decided by you, your nominated representative if you have one (next of kin for example) and PKB themselves. If PKB contact you in the future to suggest the further using or sharing of your information, be careful that you read the information you are given by them carefully as the NHS will not have control over your information at that stage, you and PKB do.

You can read the Patient Knows Best privacy notice here.

There may be occasions where we will share your information with others. This will only be done where there is a lawful basis to do so and in line with the purposes listed above.

Data controllership (who manages and controls your information) will vary depending on who inputs the information, why it is input and with whom it is shared. You can find out more on this by reading the next section of this privacy notice.
