About Me

Assistant Behaviour Specialist

Hi, I'm Kathryn.

  • My role - I work alongside a Behaviour Specialist who is the case lead. We carry out interventions and observations in the community, family homes, school and in respite. I also attend care review meetings for the families that I am currently working with. We run workshops for parents and professionals around learning disability and behaviours that challenge. As an Assistant Behaviour Specialist I have been involved in previous workshops/groups for parents and will arrange individual follow up sessions for the parents where we will discuss any difficulties they may have around their child’s behaviours. We provide families with resources that they can use at home i.e. visual timelines, reward charts, social stories etc. My role is to produce the resource packs for the families.
  • Past experience - I have worked for Facing the Challenge for over 24 years. Prior to this I worked in an adult Specialist Behaviour Team for five years, working with adults with a learning disability and behaviours the challenge.
  • Hobbies and interests - I love being outdoors, at the beach and walking my dog. I love going to the theatre and social gatherings with family and friends. I also love travelling and visiting new places.
  • Education background - I have a BTEC advanced diploma in Positive Behaviour Management and Positive Behaviour Support.
