I am the Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist for the Burns Psychology service.
I qualified in 2000 and worked in a variety of services including General Intensive Care before joining the Burns service in 2014.
I very much enjoy working in this role as we are able to see patients and their families soon after sustaining their injury whilst they may be in hospital, as well as in our outpatient clinics, so we often get to know our patients and families very well.
We work with people across the age range and our work with children and families involves helping them deal with psychological difficulties that can arise after a burn injury, building on the strengths that they often already have to help them adjust to these challenges.
We are part of the wider burns multi-disciplinary team and work closely with our colleagues to provide the best care possible for all our patients and their families.
