People with learning disabilities and those who care for them will need specialist support:

Go to this page for apps suitable for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues, an easy-read guide on looking after yourself and details of organisations and charities which offer support.

If you are continuing to struggle with your mental health after trying some of the resources including Silver Cloud, please speak to your GP.

Your GP may then refer you to our Local Primary Mental Health Support Services (LPMHSS) or to the most appropriate specialist service for you.

If you are referred, a nurse assessor will arrange an online consultation to carry out a mental health assessment and when appropriate, work with you to create a personalised plan of care.

This is often provided through group therapy as this is known to be a powerful and effective way of providing this treatment.

Nurse assessors may also advise you to join community groups and activities and consider your employment options.
