  • Regional services for cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, plastics, trauma, renal, stroke, and neurology
  • A national paediatric cleft lip and palate service to a population of 2.3 million
  • The Welsh Institute of Metabolic and Obesity Surgery
  • The Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery, providing a service for South and Mid Wales and the South West of England

  • Regional Neuro Rehabilitation Service
  • Forensic Mental Health Services (for the whole of South Wales)
  • Learning Disability Services (from Swansea to Cardiff).

  • Singleton Hospital also has a consultant-led obstetrics which deals with the most complex cases from across South West Wales
  • SBU HB manages the NHS IVF service for South Wales.
  • Morriston Hospital also carries out open-heart surgery at its Cardiac Centre, one of only two hospitals in Wales providing this service; (the other is Cardiff).
