Morriston Education Centre is dedicated to training for Medical staff. During this difficult time there will be limited teaching and training available.
Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education
Morriston Postgraduate centre is situated within the Education Centre, Morriston Hospital just inside the Main Entrance. We have been dedicated to the teaching and training of junior doctors and dentists for the past 50 years often seeing our trainees returning as consultants.
We provide dedicated teaching for both Foundation year 1 and 2 on a weekly basis with some joint sessions.
IMT weekly training programme on a Tuesday. Simulation training held on a Thursday. IMT Study Days are also held in the Education Centre.
Grand Round is held every Thursday between 1pm and 2pm, these are multidisciplinary, and are currently held virtually via TEAMs, with limited space in the Lecture Theatre for those that which to attend in person.
Dental Education is provided for all three disciplines, Foundation (Friday), Core (Tuesday) and Section 2 (various) courses are held in the Education centre. We have a state of the art Dental Skills room, which is used on a regular basis for dental courses and has been used for Plastic Surgery teaching.
