Inspiring Excellence in Medical Education
Our Education Centres provide postgraduate, undergraduate and general entry medicine training for medical staff, as well as providing facilities for all areas of multi-disciplinary education including Nursing & Corporate training. Each centre is managed by a dedicated team who ensure a high standard of Medical & Dental Education is provided across Swansea Bay University Health Board.
State of the art Audio Visual equipment and Video Conferencing facilities are available in our Education Centres. Enabling us to provide the best quality education and training to students and staff.
SBUHB has a faculty of lecturers from each specialty who are assisted by funded clinical teachers. Their services are available for postgraduate and undergraduate teaching sessions alongside the regular programme of teaching sessions for both training and senior medical staff.
SBUHB accommodates regular directorate teaching, weekly medical & dental teaching across sites and weekly teaching for the General Practitioners Training Scheme (GPST).
The Medical Education Department has strong links with Library Services, Cardiff University Medical School, Swansea University Medical School and Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW).
