I am an MRI clinical scientist and the deputy head of the MRI Physics group.
I have a PhD in molecular MRI from the University of Nottingham and I have worked as a research fellow in Imperial College London and King’s College London.
In 2021 I joined the NHS working in Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust, where I submitted my HCPC registration application and then in 2022 I joined the MR Physics Group in Swansea Bay.
My research interest lies on the development of molecular magnetic MRI to investigate the biochemistry of neurological and psychiatric disorders, with a view to characterising disease onset, improving early diagnosis and assessment of therapy effectiveness.
As a clinical academic, I am passionate about bringing research developments into clinical practice, and engaging with different professionals working in academia, industry and hospital settings, for the benefit of the clinical service.
I am a member of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) MR Special Interests Group and I am increasingly involved in UK-wide initiatives to promote sharing of knowledge and practices in the field of MRI.
I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an IPEM certified MR Safety Expert (MRSE).
