UpToDate

UpToDate is an online resource that offers over 11,000 topic reviews covering 25 specialities to help you to get evidence-based answers to your clinical questions at the point of care. To access UpToDate, please follow this link.

OpenAthens 

You can use your NHS Wales email address and password to access online resources provided by the NHS Wales e-Library and your local NHS Wales Library (journals, databases, evidence summaries) without needing an OpenAthens username and password.

If you don’t have an NHS email address you can continue to login with your usual OpenAthens details.

For SBUHB Obstetric, Gynaecology and Midwifery guidelines, please follow this link to the Wales Information System for the Dissemination of Obstetric, Gynaecology & Midwifery Material (WISDOM).

Books

You may borrow a maximum of 10 books. Our standard loan is 4 weeks, but some may only be loaned for 2 weeks; 2 week loan items are clearly labelled.

eBooks and eJournals
  • You can use the library catalogue to find eJournals that we subscribe to by the title of the journal using the journal title search options on the Library catalogue:
    • Use the 1st dropdown menu under the search bar to select 'Journals', select 'in the title'
    • From the 3rd dropdown and enter the journal title in the search bar
  • If you know the title of the article, just type it into the general library catalogue search box, NHS Wales library catalogue

Please note: if you are not on a computer on an SBU site or if you are not on an SBU networked device you will be asked for a username and password to access the full text. From 8th July 2020, you will be able to use your NHS Wales email and password to access. 

 

SBU libraries subscribe to a number of printed journals, please check our catalogue to see what each site subscribes to. Please note: all print journals are reference only
