OpenAthens 

You can use your NHS Wales email address and password to access online resources provided by the NHS Wales e-Library and your local NHS Wales Library (journals, databases, evidence summaries) without needing an OpenAthens username and password.

If you don’t have an NHS email address you can continue to login with your usual OpenAthens details.

Books

You may borrow a maximum of 10 books. Our standard loan is 4 weeks, but some may only be loaned for 2 weeks; 2 week loan items are clearly labelled.

• Requests: Please follow this link to access the contact details of your local SBUHB Library to submit any requests.
• Renewals: Books automatically renew twice, after this, you can contact us to request renewals. Email reminders are sent out 2 days before your books are due back. Please follow this link to access the contact details of your local SBUHB Library to request renewals.
• Returns: SBU items may be returned to any SBU Health Board Library. 

eBooks and eJournals

• You can use the library catalogue to find eJournals that we subscribe to by the title of the journal using the journal title search options on the Library catalogue:
  • Use the 1st dropdown menu under the search bar to select 'Journals', select 'in the title'
  • From the 3rd dropdown and enter the journal title in the search bar
• If you know the title of the article, just type it into the general library catalogue search box, NHS Wales library catalogue

To access and for further information about ClinicalKey.

• ClinicalKey is a collection of eBooks and eJournals published by Elsevier, in the ClinicalKey platform you can create a personal account allowing users to save 'favourite' titles and also create PowerPoint presentations from the images that are in ClinicalKey content. Please follow this link to the ClinicalKey page on the NHS Wales eLibrary. 

Please note: if you are not on a computer on an SBU site or if you are not on an SBU networked device you will be asked for a username and password to access the full text. From 8th July 2020, you will be able to use your NHS Wales email and password to access.
