About Me

Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

Hi, I'm Zoe.

  • My role - My role within Facing the Challenge varies day to day, which I love. My main responsibilities include conducting initial assessments, running parent/carer workshops and working directly with families and the child's network to provide appropriate strategies and interventions.
  • Past experience - I joined the team in August 2022 as a children’s learning disability nurse and later progressed to a clinical nurse specialist. I enjoy my role and have always known I wanted to work with children who have the diagnosis of a learning disability. When I was a student nurse, I had a placement with Facing the Challenge and immediately knew it was where I wanted to be!

Before joining I worked in an acute assessment and treatment unit for adults diagnosed with a learning disability. This role helped me to develop the skills and knowledge needed to support individuals who present with challenging behaviours.

  • Hobbies and interests - In my free time I am a Beaver Scout Leader and recently became an inclusion lead for my Scouts District. Scouting has been a significant part of my life and has likely fuelled my passion for working with children.

  • Education background - I’m a qualified Learning Disability Nurse and trained at the University of South Wales.
