More than 200 people visited Swansea Bay University Health Board’s mobile vaccination unit, ‘The Immbulance’, last week, to get a Covid-19 vaccination.

As part of the vaccination team’s ‘end of summer’ tour, the Immbulance parked up at popular locations across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

Along with beachfront spots such as Bay View car park in Aberavon and The Secret bar and café on Mumbles Road in Swansea, the team also headed to Pontardawe, Morriston and the Phoenix Centre in Townhill. They stopped near Castle Square in Swansea too during the week-long timetable of drop-in sessions.

The tour culminated in a visit to the Catfish and the Bottlemen gig held at Singleton Park, Swansea on Saturday evening.

“Our Immbulance drop-in sessions are an easy and straightforward way to get your first dose of Covid-19 vaccine,” James Ruggiero, project manager and assistant head of operations, said.

“You don’t need an appointment, you can just stop by at the best time and place for you.

“We encourage everyone who hasn’t had their Covid-19 vaccine yet to visit the Immbulance or go to a Mass Vaccination Centre drop-in session.”

Following the success of last week’s Immbulance sessions, more stops have been added to the timetable for this week (week beginning 6 September 2021).
