As the situation around the Coronavirus pandemic evolves, the SCVS Team are still here to offer support and assistance to people in need at this difficult time.

This page has information on resources to help you cope, the direct and signposting support SCVS can offer to help you, and even tips on games to keep children entertained when unable to leave the house.

Direct signposting support

Given the current situation, we will still be offering signposting, and some direct support services to individuals. We will also be monitoring the situation locally as it develops to assess demand, and then will formalise any additional services based on need.

We have up to date information on services across the whole county so that we can signpost you to the support you need.

This is not a crisis response service, and only operates 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday:

If you are asked to self isolate by Test Trace Protect (TTP), it is essential you do so.

We understand that this is very difficult, but there are sources of support available. Information on eligibility and how to claim the Isolation payment can be found by clicking here.

The Money Advice Service have a wealth of information for individuals on their ‘Coronavirus – what it means for you and what you’re entitled to’ page

Swansea Law Clinic is working on a rapid response to the crisis, and can refer people to a debt and welfare advice agency available remotely. Referrals must come through them, so if you need legal advice at this time please email [email protected]

Carmarthenshire Council’s Team Around the Family have pulled together a great list of online resources / sites to help to keep children entertained during the coronavirus lockdown 

Kier Construction have shared a resource they’ve put together for parents who now face the challenge of home schooling during the current period

The Children’s Commissioner for Wales has developed an information hub for children, young people, and families in Wales. They’ll post answers to your questions, be honest when they don’t have the answers, post ideas, things to do while at home and things make to you relax and laugh.

Swansea Bay University Health Board have gathered together comprehensive resources to support those who have been bereaved during the crisis. 

Cruse Bereavement Care have put together resources to share how bereavement and grief may be affected by this pandemic, covering some of the different situations and emotions bereaved people may have to deal with.
