What is happening with my appointment?

  • All NON URGENT appointments are being prioritised by Clinicians and these will be rearranged by the appointments service.
  • Queries regarding appointment dates should be made through the appointment service on; 01792 583700

  • or email swanseaopd@wales.nhs.uk. This information can be found on your appointment letter.
  • Only  patients who have been contacted specifically to attend the department will be seen.

Skin Cancer Patients

  • New patients with urgent skin cancers will be seen in clinic - please attend ONLY if you are well and have not been in contact with anyone who is suspected of having the COVID virus and if you have a got an appointment/text/phone call requesting you to attend.
  • People with routine follow up for skin cancers will be prioritised by clinicians and the appointments office will contact you for an appointment. Some appointments may be face to face, others will be via telephone or video call.
  • Self checking can be carried out and you can let us know about any changes
    • Review skin once a month
    • Look at each body segment (arms, legs, front, back which you may need someone else to look at)
    • Look for any new moles or moles that stand out
    • Look for changes in size, shape, colour, itching or bleeding
    • Feel for lumps in the neck, armpits and groin
  • If you have any concerns, contact your skin cancer specialist nurse.
